Composition

The active substances are: paracetamol, propyphenazone, caffeine. Each tablet contains 250 mg paracetamol, 150 mg propyphenazone and 50 mg caffeine. The other components are: microcrystalline cellulose, hypromellose 3 Cp, formaldehyde-casein, corn starch, talc, magnesium stearate, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide.

Therapeutic indications

Saridon is used for the symptomatic treatment of mild to moderate pain, for example headaches, toothaches, sore throats, menstrual pain, muscle and joint pain, back pain, minor arthritis pain.

Saridon is also used for the symptomatic treatment of pain and fever associated with colds and flu.

Dosage and administration

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

For adults, the single daily dose is 1-2 tablets.

For adolescents aged 12-16 years, the single daily dose is 1 tablet.

If necessary, you can administer the recommended dose up to 3 times a day.

Take the tablets with a sufficient amount of liquid.

If you think that the effect of this medicine is too weak or too strong, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.

Precautions

Before taking Saridon, talk to your doctor or pharmacist if:

  • You have been taking Saridon regularly for a longer period of time.
  • You are taking medicines that relieve or temporarily remove headaches without interruption, as this can become chronic.
  • You are taking Saridon or any other pain-relieving medicine (analgesics) containing paracetamol (acetaminophen) for a longer period of time, as you may suffer from kidney damage and even kidney failure.
  • You have fever or pain that has lasted for more than 1 week.

Special warnings

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, fertility

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

No increased risk of malformations has been reported. Paracetamol can be administered during pregnancy, but only under strict medical supervision. During pregnancy, it is not recommended to administer paracetamol for a prolonged period of time, in higher doses or in combination with other medicines, as safe use under such conditions has not been confirmed.

Paracetamol passes into breast milk in small amounts. Although no adverse reactions have been observed to date, paracetamol should only be used during breastfeeding after medical advice.

Driving and using machines

Some patients may experience dizziness or drowsiness while using paracetamol. Caution is recommended when performing activities that require alertness.
