Is this result useful?
Exoderil solution is indicated for fungal infections of the skin and nails. It is applied topically, once a day, as recommended by the doctor or pharmacist.
Exoderil 10 mg/ml cutaneous solution (naftifine hydrochloride) is an antifungal medication for skin use.
It is recommended for the treatment of the following infections:
- mycotic infections of the skin or skin folds (tinea corporis, tinea inghinalis);
- mycotic infections of the foot, especially interdigital, on the sole and on the nails (onychomycosis);
- mycotic infections of the hand, located interdigitally and on the nails (onychomycosis);
- cutaneous Candida infections;
- Pityriasis versicolor.
In addition to its antifungal effect, Exoderil also has antibacterial activity against various gram-positive and gram-negative microorganisms, which can frequently be associated with fungal infections. Furthermore, an anti-inflammatory effect occurs during clinical use; this effect leads to rapid improvement of inflammatory signs, particularly itching.
Do not use Exoderil:
- if you are allergic (hypersensitive) to naftifine hydrochloride or to any of the components of Exoderil.
Method of administration:
Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you.
You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Exoderil is used once a day on the affected skin area, after cleaning and drying this area beforehand.
To prevent recurrence, treatment should be continued for 2 weeks after clinical cure.
Exoderil is for topical application only.
To cure the fungal infection (mycosis) as soon as possible, please consider the following aspects:
1. Microbes can adhere to textile material, making contact with the infected skin area. Therefore, daily change of clothes is necessary.
2. Normal and, in particular, dry skin provides good protection against fungal infections. It is recommended to avoid covering the infected skin area with tight clothing or garments that allow limited or no ventilation (e.g., socks made of artificial textile fibers worn in tight shoes). Also, after washing, you must thoroughly dry the infected area. Any towel or clothing must be changed daily.
3. In the case of athlete's foot, you should not walk barefoot at home, in the bathroom, or, for example, in a hotel.
This is how you can prevent re-infection and prevent the further spread of pathogenic microbes.
4. Saunas or steam baths should only be frequented after the fungal infection has been definitively cured.
Warnings and precautions:
Exoderil contains ethanol and therefore should not come into contact with the eyes or be applied to areas of skin with lesions.
If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
