Composition

The active substance is paracetamol. Each suppository contains 125 mg of paracetamol. The other ingredients are: solid fat.

Therapeutic indications

Paracetamol Atb suppositories belong to the class of medicines known as analgesics-antipyretics. Paracetamol is used to reduce mild to moderate pain and fever.

Dosage and method of administration

Paracetamol Atb suppositories are administered rectally. The suppositories should be administered whole. It is not recommended to divide the suppositories before use.

Given that the recommended dose for children under 6 months is lower than the amount of active substance contained in Paracetamol Atb 125 mg suppositories, pharmaceutical forms suitable for this age group, with appropriate concentrations, should be used.

Children aged between 6 and 12 months (7-10 kg)

The recommended dose is 125 mg of paracetamol (one Paracetamol Atb 125 mg suppository) 1 - 4 times a day.

Interval between administrations: 4 - 6 hours

Maximum daily dose: 500 mg of paracetamol (4 Paracetamol Atb 125 mg suppositories)

Maximum daily dose: 1000 mg of paracetamol (8 Paracetamol Atb 125 mg suppositories)

Children aged between 6 and 9 years (22-30 kg)

Maximum daily dose: 2000 mg of paracetamol (16 Paracetamol Atb 125 mg suppositories)

If the pain does not reduce within 5 days of treatment with paracetamol and the fever does not remit or reappears within 3 days, it is necessary to reassess the diagnosis and treatment.

Precautions

Take special care when using Paracetamol Atb

  • If you have liver disease, including viral hepatitis (the risk of paracetamol hepatotoxicity is increased); in the case of long-term treatment with high doses of paracetamol, it is necessary to monitor liver function.
  • If you have severe renal insufficiency (only in the case of long-term treatment with high doses of paracetamol, occasional treatment is acceptable);
  • If you have diarrhoea.

Special warnings

Pregnancy, breastfeeding, fertility

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

Paracetamol Atb is intended for use in children under 12 years of age, but if an adolescent or a woman of childbearing age uses this medicine, the following warnings should be taken into account:

  • The medicine can be administered during pregnancy at therapeutic doses, on a short-term basis, but it should only be administered on the recommendation of your doctor.
  • Paracetamol crosses the placenta and is excreted in breast milk. It is considered that an insignificant amount of the medicine is found in breast milk, but it is recommended that during breastfeeding, paracetamol should only be used in the doses recommended by your doctor, and the treatment should not be long-term.
