LANNACHER THROMBO ASS 100MG X 100 FILM-COATED TABLETS

Composition.

The active substance is acetylsalicylic acid. A gastro-resistant tablet contains 100 mg acetylsalicylic acid. The other ingredients are: lactose monohydrate, microcrystalline cellulose, colloidal anhydrous silicon dioxide, potato starch, talc, triacetin, methacrylic acid copolymer: ethyl acrylate (1:1) 30% dispersion.

Therapeutic indications.

Thrombo ASS contains the active substance acetylsalicylic acid, which acts against platelet aggregation at relatively low doses and, in this way, reduces the formation of blood clots. By administering in the form of gastro-resistant tablets, the adverse reactions of acetylsalicylic acid on the stomach are reduced.

Thrombo ASS is indicated in:

- reducing the risk of myocardial infarction (heart attack) in patients with angina pectoris (severe chest pain),

- reducing the risk of coronary artery (heart vessels) occlusions (blockage) after myocardial infarction,

- preventing coronary artery thrombosis (clot formation) after vascular surgery, for example coronary bypass (surgical operation to dilate the coronary arteries),

- preventing the recurrence of transient ischemic attacks and cerebral infarction (produced when the oxygenation of a portion of the brain is totally or partially interrupted by a blood clot),

- preventing cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes mellitus with high cardiovascular risk (events that affect the heart or vascular system) such as angina pectoris (chest pain) or myocardial infarction.

Dosage and method of administration.

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

The following concentrations of Thrombo ASS are available for adjusting the individual dose: 50mg, 75 mg and 100 mg.

The recommended dose is:

Adults

- to reduce the risk of myocardial infarction in patients with angina pectoris: 75-150 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day.

- to reduce the risk of coronary artery (heart vessels) occlusions (blockage) after myocardial infarction: 75- 150 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day.

- to prevent coronary artery thrombosis after vascular surgery, for example coronary bypass: 75-150 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day

- to prevent the recurrence of transient ischemic attacks and cerebral infarction: 50-300 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day

- to prevent cardiovascular events in patients with diabetes mellitus with high cardiovascular risk: 100 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day, 75 mg acetylsalicylic acid per day in special cases.

The gastro-resistant tablets must be swallowed whole, with a sufficient amount of liquid, during or after meals, at approximately the same time each day. Do not chew or divide Thrombo ASS gastro-resistant tablets because the protective layer of the tablet that protects the gastric mucosa may be destroyed.

Precautions.

Acetylsalicylic acid can cause Reye's syndrome when administered to children. Reye's syndrome is a very rare disease that affects the brain and liver, and which can be life-threatening. For this reason, Thrombo ASS should not be administered to children under 16 years of age, unless recommended by the doctor.

Before using Thrombo ASS, talk to your doctor or pharmacist:

- if you are allergic to other pain relievers (medicines to reduce pain), anti-inflammatories or to medicines used to treat rheumatism.

- if you have had high blood pressure or a heart condition (heart failure).

- if you have ever had gout.

- if you have heavy menstrual cycles.

Special warnings.

Pregnancy, breastfeeding and fertility

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine. Do not use Thrombo ASS if you are pregnant in the last trimester of pregnancy. in the first two trimesters of pregnancy take Thrombo ASS only if your doctor recommends it. During breastfeeding take Thrombo ASS only if your doctor recommends it. Thrombo ASS may affect fertility in women, having an effect on ovulation.

Driving and using machines

No effects on the ability to drive or use machines are expected.
