Vitamin E has a powerful antioxidant effect.
As a prophylactic treatment in conditions requiring additional vitamin E intake:
- digestive disorders (celiac disease, tropical sprue, regional enteritis);
- hepatobiliary tract disorders (chronic cholestasis, hepatic cirrhosis, biliary atresia, obstructive jaundice); gastrectomy;
- malabsorption syndrome associated with pancreatic insufficiency, cystic fibrosis or other conditions;
- acanthosis.
Ingredients:
α-tocopheryl acetate 100 mg
How to use:
Adults: the usual recommended dose is 100-300 mg α-tocopheryl acetate per day, administered orally. If necessary, the dose can be increased to 400-500 mg per day. The dose should be individualized, depending on the specifics of each case.
In case of vitamin E deficiency associated with abetalipoproteinemia, the recommended daily dose is 50-100 mg α-tocopheryl acetate/kg.
In case of vitamin E deficiency associated with cystic fibrosis, the recommended daily dose is 100-200 mg α-tocopheryl acetate.
Vitamin E requirements increase with an increase in the dietary amount of polyunsaturated fatty acids.
