Tendon structures primarily function to transmit the force exerted by muscle contractions to the skeletal apparatus to which they are attached, transforming this energy into a useful form for our body's movement.

Given the characteristic function they must perform, tendons are endowed with high elastic capacity and resistance.

Each tendon is made of collagen, a very strong substance, and elastin, a protein that provides elasticity.

Ligaments, on the other hand, are formations of fibrous connective tissue that unite two or more anatomical structures.

Tendons and ligaments are subjected to constant stress due to factors related to age, sport, or work and can undergo structural changes, affecting functionality and leading to unpleasant, characteristic manifestations.

Their vulnerability and functional recovery time increase in the case of a deficiency of useful micronutrients for the well-being of the tendon and ligament itself. Methylsulfonylmethane (MSM) is a direct donor of biologically active Sulfur. Sulfur plays a decisive role in collagen; in fact, due to disulfide bonds, it is able to allow the three-dimensionality of the structure. If an inflammatory process is underway, collagen structures, typical for many body appendages such as cartilage or tendon structures, are more attacked by proteolytic enzymes, resulting in accelerated degeneration and pain.

Collagen is fundamental in tendons, constituting 95 to 99% of their structure. They are important for their ability to provide resistance during moments of greater tendon traction and, thus, play a role of paramount importance for correct functionality and for recovery in case of fatigue or structural alteration. In addition, their biosynthesis is stimulated by the presence of other substances, such as vitamin C, which contributes to the normal formation of collagen for the normal functioning of ligaments.

Among the most important amino acids involved in these processes, L-Arginine and L-Lysine play a strategic role, especially regarding tropocollagen fibers, due to their density.

Glucosamine sulfate and chondroitin sulfate are polysaccharide structures with viscoelastic activity in various body districts, such as cartilage and tendon and osteotendon junctions.

Boswellia carteri contains AKBA (acetyl-11-keto-boswellic acid), Commiphora myrrha - furanodienes, and Curcuma longa - curcuminoids, natural substances involved in supporting the maintenance of normal function and comfort in the joints. Boswellia and Curcuma are indicated for their beneficial effect on joint functions.

How to use
