Calvet is a French negociant that has an extensive portfolio of regional wines, with a strong focus on Bordeaux. It produces a wide range of wines from many of the major French and international varieties, notably Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Syrah, Grenache, Pinot Noir, Chardonnay and Sauvignon Blanc. Beyond Bordeaux, Calvet also bottles wines from the Rhône Valley, Beaujolais, Burgundy, the Loire Valley, Alsace, Languedoc-Roussillon and the South West.
The company was founded by Jean-Marie Calvet in Tain l'Hermitage in 1818. It soon expanded into Bordeaux, in 1828, and in 1870 built a château in the Médoc. Calvet Châteauneuf du Pape is a red wine made from Grenache and Mourvèdre grapes, with an ABV of 14%.
