Composition.
The active substance is sodium heparin. 100 g gel contains 100000 I.U. sodium heparin. The other components are: carbomer 940, methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, ethanol, orange flower oil, lavender oil, triethanolamine, purified water.
Therapeutic indications.
Lioton Gel is used for:
- treating symptoms of superficial vein disorders (e.g., those characteristic of varicose veins, thrombophlebitis, post-thrombotic syndromes, varices, stasis edema),
- preventing complications due to varicose veins (formation of blood clots in affected veins with or without inflammation of the venous wall and ulcers that form on the skin in the area of varicose veins),
- alleviating symptoms that appear after vein surgery (e.g., bruises and swelling),
- alleviating swelling, contusions, sprains, dislocations, joint and muscle ecchymoses that occur after trauma or muscle strains,
- superficial post-traumatic hematomas, bursitis, tendinitis, or after venipunctures.
Lioton Gel can be used alone when indicated for local treatment or in combination with systemic treatment.

Always use this medicine exactly as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. Talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.
Dosage and administration
Lioton Gel is intended for use on intact skin. Apply 3-10 cm of gel to the affected area once to three times a day, massaging gently. You should contact your doctor if symptoms worsen or if there is no improvement after 4 weeks of treatment.
Children and adolescents
Lioton Gel is not recommended for use in children and adolescents as safety and efficacy have not been established in this age group.
Precautions.
- if you have an increased tendency to bleed. In this case, treatment with Lioton Gel must be carefully monitored by your doctor;
- if you experience signs and symptoms of allergy (hypersensitivity) to Lioton Gel. In this case, treatment with Lioton Gel should be stopped immediately;
- if you have open, bleeding, or infected wounds on the surfaces requiring treatment: Lioton Gel should not be used on these areas
