Description:
- Supports the rebalancing of intestinal microflora/microbiota after taking antibiotics.
- Contains live bacterial strains that are naturally found in the intestinal tract from the first day of life.
The human intestine contains a complex and dynamic spectrum of bacteria that can be classified as native “residents” and transient bacteria that make up the intestinal microflora/microbiota. The mucous membranes (oral, respiratory and digestive), along with the skin, are the environment in which the microbiota exists. The microbiota interacts with the host organism. The human intestine contains different microbial species, which are essential for the normal functioning of the digestive tract and the immune function. The basis of these beneficial effects is the symbiotic relationship between the intestinal microflora/microbiota and the host organism. The intestinal microflora has a significant influence on the process of digestion and assimilation of nutrients, and the close interaction that the intestinal microflora has with the host's immune system is equally important. From a microbiological point of view, the intestinal microflora – through the beneficial bacterial species it contains – can prevent the proliferation of pathogenic bacterial species. The microbiota is an extremely responsive ecosystem, including in the face of pharmacological interventions. Antibiotic therapy also has effects in terms of modifying the profile of the intestinal microflora. Antibiotics can disrupt the natural balance between the different species of the intestinal microbiota.
Other causes of intestinal microflora/microbiota imbalance can be:
- Enteral infections
- Change of bacterial environment (travel)
- Inadequate diets
Imbalance of intestinal microflora/microbiota can have observable forms of manifestation:
- Diarrhea
- Abdominal discomfort
- Bloating
- Constipation
- Fungal infections such as Candida spp.
- Bacterial infections such as Clostridium difficile or Helycobacter pylori
What is EUBIOTIC® capsules and how to use it:
EUBIOTIC® capsules is a combination of two beneficial bacterial strains (strain BB-12® of Bifidobacterium animalis and strain LA-5® of Lactobacillus acidophilus) which, through their metabolic products, influence both the intestinal environment and the internal environment of the body. The internal environment of the body can be either in a normal physiological state, or unbalanced, or characterized by various underlying pathologies acquired in the personal history of each individual.
EUBIOTIC® is a combination of:
- Live lactic cultures: Bifidobacterium animalis, strain BB-12® and Lactobacillus acidophilus, strain LA-5® in a quantity of 4x109 CFU (colony forming units)/capsule.
- Bifidobacterium and Lactobacillus acidophilus are normally found in healthy intestinal flora, can be obtained through natural food or through supplementation, but their number can be affected by external factors such as antibiotic consumption, stress, unbalanced diets, consumption of contaminated food or change of environment during travel.
- Bifidobacterium animalis strain BB-12® is a beneficial bacterium studied in vitro, in vivo and in clinical studies for its role on the digestive system and the immune system.
- Lactobacillus acidophilus strain LA-5® is a beneficial bacterium well studied for its role on the digestive system.
The association of these two beneficial bacterial strains (strain BB-12® and strain LA-5®) - an association with a synergistic effect - has been studied for its role on intestinal transit and its balancing. Another direction of scientific research involves the role of the association of strains BB-12® and LA-5® on both the immune system and the composition of the microbiota (including after antibiotic administration).
The bacterial strain BB-12® of Bifidobacterium animalis is safe for human consumption; it has received QPS18 status (Qualified Presumption of Safety). It has been tested in human clinical studies at levels of up to at least 100 billion CFU/day (colony forming units), with no safety concerns.
