Saccharin is a synthetic, non-caloric sweetener, about 300 times sweeter than sucrose.
The sweetening power of saccharin, compared to sugar, varies depending on the solution's concentration. It is generally accepted that 10 mg of saccharin has a sweetening power approximately equivalent to that of one sugar cube (5.5 g).
Saccharin is rapidly absorbed from the digestive tract and is eliminated, unchanged, almost entirely through urine within 24 - 48 hours, being practically devoid of any pharmacological action.
Saccharin is used for sweetening foods and liquids (tea, milk, compotes, coffee, fruit juices), in situations where sugar intake is not desired.
Composition: 19 mg of saccharin, excipients for one tablet.
Method of administration: It is recommended not to exceed 4 - 8 tablets per day. Saccharin should be added to foods after their thermal preparation.
