Composition.
The active substance is native dry extract (3-6:1) from gentian root (Gentiana lutea L.), cowslip flowers (Primula veris L.), common sorrel herb (Rumex crispus L.), elderflower (Sambucus nigra L.), verbena herb (Verbena officinalis L.) (1:3:3:3:3). Extraction solvent I: ethanol 51% (m/m). Each coated tablet contains 160.00 mg of native dry extract. The other components are: sugar (sucrose); talc; calcium carbonate; microcrystalline cellulose; maltodextrin; powdered cellulose; hypromellose; dextrin; acacia, spray-dried; hydrophobic colloidal silicon dioxide; hydrophobic anhydrous silicon dioxide; titanium dioxide liquid glucose; magnesium stearate [vegetable]; stearic acid; chlorophyll powder 25% (contains copper complexes of chlorophyllins); indigo carmine aluminium lake (contains indigotine and aluminium hydroxide); carnauba wax; riboflavin.
Therapeutic indications.
Sinupret acute coated tablets is a herbal medicinal product used in adults for the treatment of acute, uncomplicated inflammations of the paranasal sinuses.
Dosage and administration.
Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor or pharmacist has told you. If you are not sure, talk to your doctor or pharmacist.
The recommended dose is:
Adults should take 1 coated tablet 3 times a day (maximum 3 coated tablets per day). There is insufficient data regarding the recommended dose for patients with impaired kidney/liver function.
Method of administration
Sinupret acute coated tablets should be swallowed with a sufficient amount of liquid (e.g., a glass of water) 3 times a day (morning, midday, and evening), without chewing the coated tablets. If you have a sensitive stomach, Sinupret acute coated tablets should preferably be taken after meals.
Unless otherwise recommended, the duration of treatment is: 7-14 days. If during this time you do not notice an improvement in symptoms, or if the symptoms persist after this time, please consult your doctor.
Precautions.
Consult your doctor if symptoms persist for more than 7-14 days, if they worsen or recur periodically, and/or if fever, nasal bleeding, severe pain, purulent nasal discharge, visual disturbance occur, or if the face becomes asymmetrical or if you feel numbness in the face.
In patients with gastritis or sensitive stomachs, this medicine should be taken with great caution. It is preferable to take Sinupret acute coated tablets after meals and with a glass of water.
The use of this medicine is not recommended for children and adolescents under 18 years of age, as insufficient data is available in this regard.
Special warnings.
Pregnancy and breastfeeding
For safety reasons, the administration of Sinupret acute coated tablets should be avoided during pregnancy. It is not known whether the active substances in Sinupret acute coated tablets are excreted in human milk. Sinupret acute coated tablets should not be used during breastfeeding. If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.
Driving and using machines
Sinupret acute coated tablets may have a minor influence on the ability to drive and use machines in patients experiencing side effects such as dizziness.
