Description

You're reading an Auto-translation.

The HCG pregnancy test is an immunological self-test for the rapid, visual, and qualitative determination of human chorionic gonadotropin (HCG) in a urine sample, to help detect pregnancy in its early stages.

Composition

The test strip contains anti-beta HCG with gold colloid particles and a combination of anti-alpha HCG as a membrane coating.

Materials needed, but not supplied

  1. Watch or stopwatch
  2. Sample container

Sample collection

  1. Collect a fresh urine sample using a clean and dry disposable container.
  2. Generally, morning samples contain the highest concentration of HCG for early pregnancy detection. However, any urine sample is suitable for testing.
  3. Samples can be stored at room temperature for 8 hours. If the sample cannot be tested immediately, it can be stored at 2-8°C for 48 hours or at -20°C for up to 18 months.
  4. Bring the urine sample to room temperature before testing

Testing procedure

Allow the test strip, urine sample, and/or controls to reach room temperature before performing the test.

  1. Remove the test strip from the sealed pouch and use it as soon as possible.
  2. Immerse the test strip in the urine sample for at least 5 seconds with the arrow pointing towards the urine. Do not immerse the strip beyond the printed MAX line.
  3. Remove the strip and place it on a flat surface. Or leave the test strip in the urine sample as long as the strip is not immersed beyond the MAX line.
  4. Wait for the pink colored lines to appear. Read the results within the first 5 minutes. Do not read the result after 5 minutes.

Interpretation of results

Pregnancy present: Two distinct pink lines appear, one in the test region (T) and one in the control region (C).

No pregnancy: Only one pink line appears in the control region. No variable pink line appears in the test region.

Invalid: The control line does not appear.
