Therapeutic indications.

Enterium contains loperamide hydrochloride, which belongs to a group of medicines called antidiarrheals.

Enterium is used for the treatment of sudden onset diarrhea symptoms (acute diarrhea) in adults and adolescents over 12 years of age, or in cases of diarrhea associated with irritable bowel syndrome in adults, after diagnosis has been confirmed by a doctor.

In case of diarrhea, Enterium makes stools more consistent and less frequent.

Dosage and administration.

Always use Enterium exactly as stated in this leaflet or as your doctor has told you. You should check with your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

You can use Enterium at any time of the day.

Capsules should be swallowed with a quantity of liquid.

Do not administer more than 6 Enterium capsules within 24 hours!

If diarrhea persists for more than 48 hours, stop treatment with Enterium and consult your doctor.

Treatment of acute diarrhea

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age

For sudden (acute) episodes, administer 2 Enterium capsules at once, then one Enterium capsule after each diarrheal stool.

Treatment of acute diarrhea associated with irritable bowel syndrome

Adults

Initially, administer 2 Enterium capsules at once, then one Enterium capsule after each diarrheal stool, unless your doctor recommends otherwise. If repeated episodes of diarrhea continue for more than two weeks, contact your doctor.

Precautions.

Tell your doctor or pharmacist:

- if you have liver problems, as you may need more careful medical attention while taking Enterium;

- if you have AIDS and are being treated with Enterium for diarrhea, if you notice any signs of abdominal bloating, stop treatment with Enterium immediately and inform your doctor;

- if you have previously been diagnosed with "irritable bowel syndrome", seek medical advice before using Enterium

Although Enterium stops diarrhea, it will not treat its cause. Whenever possible, the cause of diarrhea should also be treated.

Special warnings.

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

Ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine.

If you are pregnant or think you may be pregnant, you must inform your doctor, who will decide if you can use Enterium.

It is recommended not to use Enterium if you are breastfeeding, as small amounts of Enterium are excreted in your milk.

Driving vehicles and using machines

Fatigue, changes in consciousness, dizziness or drowsiness may accompany diarrhea. Therefore, if you notice these manifestations during treatment with Enterium, avoid driving vehicles or operating machinery.

Packaging. It is packaged in boxes with one blister of 10 capsules.
