Composition. The active substances are paracetamol 1000 mg, ascorbic acid (vitamin C) 70 mg and phenylephrine hydrochloride 10 mg. The other ingredients are sucrose, anhydrous sodium citrate, tartaric acid, aspartame (E 951), forest fruit and menthol flavour, Euroblend Blackcurrant colouring (contains sunset yellow (E 110), carmoisine (E 122) and green S (E 142)).
Therapeutic indications.
Coldrex is a remedy used for the short-term, symptomatic relief of influenza, feverish conditions, chills and the common cold, including headache, sore throat, discomfort and muscular pain, nasal congestion, sinusitis and the pain and acute nasal discharge associated with it.
Dosage and method of administration.
For oral administration. Empty the contents of the sachet into a cup and half-fill with very hot water. Stir well. Add cold water if necessary
Adults (including the elderly) and children aged 12 years and over: The recommended dose is one sachet every 4-6 hours, as required. Do not take more than one dose every 4 hours. Do not take more than 4 sachets in any 24-hour period.
Do not exceed the recommended dose. The medicine should not be used for more than 7 days without consulting a doctor. Please consult your doctor if symptoms persist.
Children under 12 years: Not to be given to children under 12 years, unless recommended by a doctor.
Precautions.
Do not take this medicine:
- with any other medicines that contain paracetamol, decongestants (for nasal congestion or a blocked nose) or cough and cold combinations,
- if you are taking or have taken within the last two weeks medicines called monoamine oxidase inhibitors (MAOIs), which are usually used to treat depression.
Special warnings.
Pregnancy and breast-feeding
If you are pregnant, trying to become pregnant or breast-feeding, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking any medicine including COLDREX MaxGrip. COLDREX MaxGrip should not be used during pregnancy or breast-feeding unless considered strictly necessary by your doctor.
Driving and using machines
This medicine may cause dizziness. If affected do not drive or operate machinery.
