Rambutan
Rambutan is a juicy fruit, brought directly from Asia. The seeds are not consumed.
The Asian fruit has an oval shape, red color and is covered with soft spikes. Under the hard peel there is a juicy pulp. The taste of rambutan is a balanced combination of sweet and sour. In the middle of the fruit there is a brown seed.
Rambutan is a tropical plant, which comes from warm regions with a lot of humidity in India, Vietnam and the Malay Archipelago.
Usage
The tastiest rambutan is the fresh one.
For an even better taste, you can sprinkle vanilla sugar or classic sugar and cinnamon. It is used for compotes, jams, marmalades, fruit salads, desserts, but also in a glass of champagne or cocktails.
