Romanian Green Onion bunch

Green onion (also known as scallion) is a vegetable derived from various species in the genus Allium. Green onions generally have a milder taste than most onions, and their close relatives include garlic, shallots, leeks, chives and Chinese onions.

Uses:
Green onions can be cooked or used raw as part of salads, sauces or Asian recipes, chopped they can be used in soups, noodles and seafood dishes, sandwiches, curries and as part of stir-fries. In China, scallions are commonly used together with ginger and garlic to cook a wide variety of vegetables and meats. The white part of the onion is usually stir-fried with other ingredients, while the green part is usually chopped to garnish the finished dish.
