The cabbage is grown by Romanian farmers, then pickled for a period of three months. It is believed that the origin of sauerkraut is from China, because the fermentation process was used to prevent food spoilage. It is recommended to consume packaged sauerkraut due to its composition rich in vitamin C, but also to the various good bacteria that are obtained through the fermentation process. These contribute to a healthy intestinal transit, but also to the breakdown of carbohydrates. Cabbage also contains various minerals that are also found in kefir. Excessive consumption is not recommended for hypertensive people.
