Composition
The active substances are phenylephrine and dimetindene maleate. The other components are: benzalkonium chloride, anhydrous disodium phosphate, citric acid monohydrate, sorbitol, deterpenated lavender essence and purified water.
Therapeutic indications
Vibrocil nasal drops contain a nasal decongestant (phenylephrine) and an antihistamine (dimetindene maleate) as active substances.
Vibrocil nasal drops provide rapid and lasting relief from nasal congestion and runny nose, symptoms present in a wide variety of infectious or allergic diseases of the upper respiratory tract. It helps clear the nasal passages, easing the sensation of a congested and stuffy nose. Vibrocil nasal drops do not interfere with the activity of nasal cilia. Vibrocil nasal drops are used to relieve nasal congestion from colds, acute and chronic rhinitis, hay fever or other allergic rhinitis (allergies to house dust, animal fur, etc.), vasomotor rhinitis and sinusitis.
Vibrocil nasal drops can also be used as an adjuvant treatment in cases of otitis.
Vibrocil nasal drops may be prescribed by your doctor for pre- and postoperative care in cases of nasal surgery.
You should talk to your doctor if you do not feel better or if you feel worse after 7 days of treatment.
Dosage and administration
Children under 1 year of age: not recommended.
Children aged between 1 and 6 years (under adult supervision): 1-2 drops administered into each nostril 3-4 times a day.
Children aged between 6 and 12 years (under adult supervision): 3-4 drops administered into each nostril 3-4 times a day.
Adolescents over 12 years of age and adults: 3-4 drops administered into each nostril 3-4 times a day.
Vibrocil nasal drops should be used after blowing your nose.
Tilt your head back while standing or sitting. If you are lying in bed, you should hang your head over the edge of the bed. Apply the drops into each nostril and keep your head tilted back for a few minutes to allow the medicine to spread in the nose.
Precautions
Consult your doctor before using Vibrocil nasal drops if you have any of the following medical conditions:
- Heart disease
- High blood pressure
- Overactive thyroid
- Diabetes mellitus
- Enlarged prostate, as treatment could lead to urinary retention
- Epilepsy
