Composition

The active substance is amorolfine, in the form of hydrochloride. Each ml contains 55.7 mg amorolfine hydrochloride, equivalent to 50 mg amorolfine (5% m/v amorolfine).

Therapeutic indications

Exoderil Set 50 mg/ml nail polish is used to treat fungal infections of the nails in adults. It should only be used if the top half or the sides of the nail are affected.

The active substance, amorolfine, prevents the growth of the fungi and kills them.

Exoderil Set 50 mg/ml nail polish is active against a wide range of fungal species that are sensitive to amorolfine, such as yeasts, moulds and dermatophytes. Bacteria, however, are not sensitive to amorolfine.

Warnings and precautions

Talk to your doctor or pharmacist before using Exoderil Set 50 mg/ml nail polish if you have:

  • diabetes
  • a weakened immune system or are taking medicines that reduce the activity of the immune system
  • poor blood circulation in your hands and feet
  • a severely damaged or infected nail
  • a history of nail injury, skin conditions such as psoriasis, other chronic skin conditions, swelling, yellow nails associated with respiratory disease, painful nails, distorted/deformed nails or any other nail disorder.

Dosage and method of administration

Always take this medicine exactly as described in this leaflet or as your doctor has told you. Check with your doctor if you are not sure.

For topical use. To be applied to the affected nails.

Apply Exoderil Set 50 mg/ml nail polish once a week to the affected fingernails or toenails.

Before reusing the bottle, remove any remaining nail polish or cosmetic nail varnish from the nails and file the nails again. Clean the nails with a wipe provided in the pack and reapply Exoderil Set 50 mg/ml nail polish as instructed.
