Green onion (also known as spring onion) is a vegetable derived from different species of the genus Allium. Green onions generally have a milder taste than dried ones, and its close relatives include garlic, shallots, leeks, chives, and Chinese onions.

Usage:
Green onions can be cooked or used raw as part of salads, salsas, or Asian recipes; diced, they can be used in soup, noodles and seafood dishes, sandwiches, curries, and as part of stir-fries. In China, green onions are commonly used together with ginger and garlic to cook a wide variety of vegetables and meats. The white part of the onion is usually stir-fried with other ingredients, while the green part is usually chopped to garnish the finished dish.

Storage:
In the refrigerator, for up to one week.
