TERAPIA TERAPIA LOPERAMIDE 2MG X 10 CAPSULES

Composition

The active substance is loperamide hydrochloride. One capsule contains 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride. The other ingredients are: capsule content - lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, partially pregelatinized corn starch, colloidal silicon dioxide; capsule cap and body - methyl parahydroxybenzoate, propyl parahydroxybenzoate, titanium dioxide (E 171), Patent Blue V (E 131), Allura Red AC (E129), quinoline yellow (E 104), gelatin.

Therapeutic indications

Loperamide Terapia contains loperamide hydrochloride, which belongs to a group of medicines called peristalsis inhibitors, antipropulsives. Loperamide Terapia is used to treat a sudden episode (acute) of diarrhea or for long-term diarrhea (chronic). In case of diarrhea, Loperamide Terapia makes the stools more consistent and less frequent.

If you do not feel better or feel worse after 2 days, you should see a doctor.

Contraindications/Warnings

• Although Loperamide Terapia stops diarrhea, it will not treat the cause of it. Whenever possible, the cause of diarrhea should also be treated.
• When you have diarrhea, you lose a lot of fluids. Therefore, you must replace the lost fluids (drink more fluids). This is especially important in children. The pharmacist will be able to provide you with a special powder that contains sugar and mineral salts. When added to water, it will replace the salts you have lost during a diarrheal episode. The solution is particularly indicated for children.
• In the case of a sudden (acute) attack of diarrhea, Loperamide Terapia will usually stop the symptoms within 48 hours. If this does not happen, stop treatment and see your doctor.
• If your doctor recommends avoiding treatments that slow down bowel movement, do not take Loperamide Terapia. Such a case may be constipation or bloating.
• Tell your doctor if you have liver problems; you may need close medical attention while taking Loperamide Terapia.
• If you have AIDS and are being treated with Loperamide Terapia for diarrhea, if you have any signs of abdominal bloating or bulging, stop treatment with Loperamide Terapia immediately and tell your doctor.

Dosage and method of administration

Always use exactly as your doctor has told you. You should talk to your doctor or pharmacist if you are not sure.

Acute diarrhea

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age

The recommended initial dose is 4 mg loperamide hydrochloride (2 Loperamide Terapia capsules) taken orally, followed by 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride (one Loperamide Terapia capsule) after each diarrheal stool.

Chronic diarrhea

Adults and adolescents over 12 years of age

The recommended initial dose is 4 mg loperamide hydrochloride per day (2 Loperamide Terapia capsules) for adults and 2 mg loperamide hydrochloride per day (1 Loperamide Terapia capsule) for adolescents. This initial dose should be adjusted until 1-2 solid stools per day are obtained. This is usually achieved with a maintenance dose of 1-6 capsules (2 mg-12 mg loperamide hydrochloride) per day.

The maximum dose for acute and chronic diarrhea is 8 capsules (16 mg) per day for adults, in adolescents it should be related to body weight (3 capsules/20 kg), but should not exceed a maximum of 8 capsules per day.

Elderly

No dose adjustment is necessary in the elderly.

Special warnings

Pregnancy and breastfeeding

If you are pregnant or breastfeeding, think you may be pregnant or are planning to have a baby, ask your doctor or pharmacist for advice before taking this medicine.

It is not advisable to take this medicine during pregnancy. It is recommended not to use Loperamide Terapia if you are breastfeeding, as small amounts of Loperamide Terapia are excreted in your milk.

Driving and using machines

If during treatment (or as a result of diarrhea) you feel tired, drowsy or dizzy, you are less alert or have a feeling of fainting, avoid driving and using machines.

Packaging

It is available in boxes with a PVC/Al blister with 10 capsules.
