Our Pacific cod comes from MSC-certified fishing areas in the North Pacific. Its firm flesh and delicate flavor make it a versatile ingredient in the kitchen. Unlike most cod, our Pacific cod comes from the Pacific rather than the Atlantic. This member of the cod family is closely related to its Atlantic namesake and ranges from the coasts of Japan to the Bering Sea. It thrives in cool, oxygen-rich waters, usually near the seabed, where it feeds on fish, crustaceans, shellfish, and worms. In rare cases, Pacific cod can live up to 25 years.
