Preparation method
Bring a medium pot of salted water to a boil. Once the water is boiling, add the spaghetti and cook according to package instructions (approximately 8-12 minutes), until al dente.
While the pasta is cooking, prepare the sauce: in a medium bowl, finely grate the lemon zest and squeeze the juice. Add the finely grated Parmesan, olive oil, salt, and pepper to taste. Mix well until combined.
Approximately 2 minutes before the spaghetti is done, add the broccoli florets to the same pot. Before draining the pasta, reserve one cup (approx. 250 ml) of the cooking water. Drain the spaghetti and broccoli, then return them to the pot.
Chef's tip
For an extra boost of flavor, you can add a crushed garlic clove to the Parmesan and lemon mixture.
