Ingredients for Pad Thai
- 2 Packs of noodles
- 1 Bag of shrimp
- Tofu Cheese
- 2 Eggs
- Peanut butter to taste
- 3 cloves of garlic, finely chopped
- 3 tablespoons of vegetable oil
- 1 bunch of green onion
- 1 cup of carrots, sliced
- 2 tablespoons of lemon juice
- 2 tablespoons of fish sauce
- 1/4 cup of water
- 2 tablespoons of brown sugar
Garnishes
- Lemon slices
- Fresh dill
Instructions
- 1Place the rice noodles in a bowl and cover them with hot water. Let them soak for 30 minutes, then drain them.
- 2In a large pan, heat the oil over medium heat and add the garlic and chili pepper (if you want it spicy). Cook for 1-2 minutes.
- 3Add the shrimp or meat and cook until browned. If using tofu, fry it until golden.
- 4On one side of the pan, crack the eggs and scramble them until well cooked. Then, combine them with the shrimp or meat in the pan.
- 5Add the rice noodles to the pan and mix well to combine all ingredients.
- 6Add the bamboo shoots or finely chopped vegetables and cook for 2-3 minutes.
- 7In a separate bowl, mix the lemon juice, brown sugar, fish sauce (or soy sauce), and water. Add the mixture to the pan and mix well.
- 8Continue to cook the mixture until the noodles are tender and absorb the sauce, adding water if necessary.
- 9Add the green onion and peanut butter, mix and cook for another 1-2 minutes.
- 10Serve the Pad Thai garnished with lemon slices, soybeans, and fresh chopped dill or cilantro.
Tip
This is a basic Pad Thai recipe, but you can customize the ingredients and flavors according to your preferences. This dish can be adapted to be vegetarian or vegan by replacing animal-derived ingredients.
