Preparation method

Start by boiling salted water in a large pot. When the water boils, add the whole wheat penne pasta and cook for 15–16 minutes over medium heat. Once cooked, drain the pasta.

Meanwhile, heat the rapeseed oil in a smaller saucepan over medium heat. Add the chopped onion and sauté for 3–4 minutes. Pour in the milk, add the grated Gouda cheese, cream cheese, nutmeg, salt, and pepper. Cook everything for 3–4 minutes over medium heat, stirring until the sauce becomes smooth, then turn off the heat.

Cut the zucchini into small cubes and finely chop the green chives. Add them to the cheese sauce and mix well.

Chef's tip

You can serve this dish with a fresh tomato or cucumber salad for added freshness.
