Preparation method
Preheat the oven to 160 °C.
Arrange the walnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet and place them in the preheated oven for 15 minutes. Transfer the roasted walnuts from the baking sheet to a bowl and let them cool, then roughly chop them.
Roughly chop the garlic. In a pan over medium heat, melt the butter and sauté the garlic for 1 minute, stirring occasionally, until it becomes frothy. Remove from heat and let cool, stirring occasionally. Be careful not to brown the garlic too much, as the pesto will become bitter.
Chef's tip
You will need a blender for preparation. This pesto keeps excellently in the refrigerator in an airtight jar, covered with a thin layer of olive oil.
