Preparing the Pasta
Prepare a large pot, fill it with water for the pasta, and bring it to a boil over high heat. Salt the water, and as soon as it starts boiling, add the whole wheat spaghetti. Cook for 17–18 minutes over medium-high heat (or according to package instructions for al dente). After cooking, drain the pasta.
Preparing the Sauce and Serving
While the pasta is cooking, peel the garlic and slice it thinly. Wash the cherry tomatoes and cut them in half. In a medium pan, heat the 4 tablespoons of olive oil over medium heat. When the oil is hot, add the garlic slices and sauté for 1 minute.
Add the cherry tomatoes to the pan, gently press them with a wooden spoon to release their juices, and cook for 4–5 minutes over medium heat.
Chef's tip
For a more intense flavor, you can add a little grated Parmesan on top before serving.
If the sauce seems too dry, add 2-3 tablespoons of the pasta cooking water before mixing everything in the pan.
