Ingredients
- 200 g plant-based gyros strips
- ½ red onion
- 1 tomato
- ¼ cucumber
- ½ small head of lettuce
- 1 teaspoon dried oregano
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- 1 teaspoon smoked paprika
- 2 pita breads
Vegan Yogurt Sauce
- 100 g vegan yogurt
- 1 clove of garlic, crushed
- ½ tablespoon lemon juice
- a handful of fresh chopped dill
- salt to taste
Preparation Method
- 1Heat the pita bread in a pan or oven for 2–3 minutes.
- 2Slice the onion thinly, dice the tomato and cucumber, chop the lettuce.
- 3Heat the olive oil in a pan, add the plant-based gyros strips. Season with oregano and paprika, sauté for 5–6 minutes until crispy.
- 4Mix all sauce ingredients in a bowl until you get a creamy consistency.
- 5For assembly: spread the yogurt sauce inside each warm pita, add lettuce, tomato, cucumber, and the gyros strips.
- 6Roll up and serve immediately, while warm.
