Preparation method
Ingredients overview
- 4 pcs of ground beef for burgers
- 4 pcs of Boston gourmet burger buns
- 4 tablespoons of grated Parmesan
- 1 pc of large fleshy tomato
- 4 tablespoons of egg mayonnaise
- 1 teaspoon of smoked paprika
- 3 pcs of fresh red onion
- 4 tablespoons of honey BBQ sauce
- 4 slices of smoked bacon
- 1 handful of fresh arugula
- 1 tablespoon of sunflower oil
- 1 pinch of freshly ground black pepper
- 1 pc of Coca-Cola 0.5l
Preparation of ingredients and sauce
Remove the beef from the refrigerator 30 minutes before grilling to bring it to room temperature. Peel the red onion and cut it into thin half-moons. Sauté it in sunflower oil until translucent, then add the honey BBQ sauce and simmer until beautifully caramelized. Meanwhile, mix the mayonnaise with the smoked paprika and refrigerate the sauce for the flavors to settle.
Grilling and assembly
Brush the meat with a little oil and season with freshly ground black pepper (and salt, if the meat mixture is not already salted). Place the meat on the hot grill for about 4 minutes per side, so that it remains slightly pink in the middle. At the same time, fry the bacon slices until crispy and lightly toast the halved buns. When the meat is almost ready, sprinkle the grated Parmesan on top and let it melt for another minute.
Assembling the burger: spread the smoked mayonnaise on the bottom bun, add a layer of fresh arugula, place the meat with Parmesan, caramelized onions, crispy bacon, and a slice of tomato. Cover with the other half of the bun and serve immediately with a cold Coca-Cola.
