Ingredients
- 1 tablespoon of sugar
- 1 teaspoon of honey
- A little salt
- A little pepper
- A little chili
- Herb sauce (dip)
- Curry paste
- 2 large red onions
- 2 tablespoons of yogurt
- 150 g of Cow's milk cream cheese
- A bunch of chopped parsley leaves
- Half a clove of garlic
- A sprig of thyme
- 200ml Cognac
- A drop of olive oil
Burger
- 2 pieces of halloumi cheese
- 1 tomato
- A bunch of chopped fresh herbs
- 2 burger buns
- 2 iceberg lettuce leaves
- 2 pickled cucumbers
Preparing the Onion Chutney
- 1Peel the onion and cut it in half, then into thin slices.
- 2Put the olive oil in a deeper pan and let it heat up. Fry the onion in oil until translucent. Add a tablespoon of sugar to the pan. When the sugar caramelizes slightly, add the cognac and leave on the heat until the alcohol evaporates.
- 3Then add the rest of the spices and let it simmer at a lower temperature until the liquid has reduced by half. Finally, mix with a teaspoon of honey and remove from heat, adding salt to taste.
Preparing the Herb Sauce (Dip)
- 1Mix the ingredients for the sauce and season to taste. Refrigerate the sauce.
Preparation
- 1Brush the halloumi cheese with olive oil and sprinkle with dried thyme. Place the cheese on the grill and grill until slightly browned.
- 2Cut the buns, brush one side with olive oil and let them brown slightly on the grill.
- 3Spread the bottom half of the bun with the prepared sauce, place a lettuce leaf, then the grilled halloumi cheese, add a slice of tomato and a few pickle slices. Add the Onion Chutney on top. Place the burger, then add the remaining sauce, and finally the other half of the bun.
Recommendation
- 1The onion chutney can be consumed hot or cold. It lasts approximately 3 days in the refrigerator. We recommend serving it with a vegetable side dish, grilled asparagus, or fresh vegetable salad.
