Preparation method
Preparing the pan and fruit
Preheat the oven to 160 °C. Grease a cake pan (26 cm diameter) with butter, line it with baking paper, grease the paper again with butter, and sprinkle 3 tablespoons of sugar evenly on the bottom of the pan.
Peel the pears, remove the core, and cut them into sixths. Arrange them evenly on the bottom of the pan, over the sugar layer.
Preparing the batter and baking
Beat the soft butter with the sugar until it becomes airy and foamy, then incorporate the eggs one by one. Add the sifted flour, baking powder, and ground ginger, mixing gently. Finally, pour in the milk and homogenize the mixture.
Chef's tip
Use 'Untoasă' type pears for the smoothest texture.
You can replace pears with apples, plums, or berries for seasonal variations.
To perfectly cut the baking paper, draw the outline of the pan's base on the paper and cut it out. For the sides, cut a long strip corresponding to the height of the pan.
