Preparation method

Preparing the tender dough

1

Beat the softened Miil butter with the Kitchin powdered sugar until creamy. Add the egg, vanilla extract, and pinch of salt, then gradually incorporate the white flour. Knead quickly until you get a smooth, compact dough. Wrap it in cling film and chill in the refrigerator for 30–45 minutes.

Cutting out cheerful shapes

2

Preheat the oven to 175°C. Lightly dust your work surface with flour and roll out the chilled dough to a thickness of 4–5 mm. Let the kids cut out their favorite Christmas shapes: little stars, Christmas trees, snowmen, or hearts. Place them on a baking sheet lined with baking paper.

Baking the golden cookies

3

Bake the cookies for 10–12 minutes, until the edges turn very lightly golden and the centers remain pale. Let them cool for 5 minutes on the baking sheet, then transfer them to a wire rack.

Chef's tip

If the dough warms up and gets sticky while the kids are cutting out the shapes, place the baking sheet in the refrigerator for 10 minutes before putting it into the oven – this way the shapes will keep their sharp, perfect outline while baking.
