Ingredients

  • 300 g of superior white wheat flour 000
  • 180 g of butter
  • 2 pcs of eggs (yolks)
  • 5 g of vanilla essence
  • 50 g of lemons (zest)
  • 200 g of rahat (Turkish delight)
  • 160 g of powdered sugar

Instructions

    In a bowl, combine 300g of flour with vanilla sugar, a pinch of salt, vanilla essence, and grated lemon or orange zest.

    Mix them, then add a packet of butter, with a minimum of 80% fat.

    It is recommended that this mixture be combined using a food processor to maintain its tenderness later.

    After mixing everything, add 1 egg yolk and a maximum of 2 tablespoons of water and mix again.

    Once everything is homogenized, form the dough into a ball and leave it in the refrigerator for approx. 30 minutes.

    While we wait, cut the Turkish delight into smaller pieces.

    Remove the dough from the refrigerator and divide it into 4 equal pieces. Flatten each piece with a rolling pin into a circular shape.

    From the circular shape, cut equal strips, starting from the center outwards.

    At the base of each dough strip, place the Turkish delight and start rolling until it takes the shape of a cornuleț.

    Bake them in the preheated oven for approx. 20 minutes at a temperature of 170 degrees.

    After removing them from the oven, while they are still warm, roll them in powdered sugar.
