Preparation method

Preparing the ingredients

1

Wash the grapes thoroughly under cold running water and remove the berries from the stems, discarding any damaged ones. Wash the lemon carefully and cut half of it into thin round slices, then squeeze the fresh juice from the other half.

Boiling the aromatic syrup

1

In a large pot of about 3 liters, pour 1500 ml of still water. Add 120 g of granulated white sugar, 16 g of vanilla sugar, the cinnamon stick, whole cloves, and the lemon slices.

2

Place the pot over medium heat and bring the mixture to a boil, stirring gently until the sugar is completely dissolved. Let the syrup simmer gently for 5 minutes so the flavors of cinnamon and cloves release harmoniously.

Chef's tip

For an even more refined taste, you can combine white grapes with red or black grapes - the compote will take on a gorgeous ruby hue.

If you use seedless grapes (such as Victoria or Thompson varieties), the compote will be extremely convenient and pleasant to enjoy, even for children.

Store the compote in the refrigerator in clean, airtight glass jars - it keeps wonderfully for up to 5-6 days.
