  • 50g butter

    Two hours before baking, remove the chicken from the refrigerator and salt it well on all sides with 1 tablespoon of salt. Mix the remaining salt with pepper.

    Preheat the oven to 170°C.

    Let the chicken dry, grease it with 2 parts of the butter and place the rest of the butter under the skin on the chicken breast. Season the chicken with a salt and pepper mixture on all sides.

    Pour water until its level reaches 1 cm in the baking tray. Place the chicken on the rack in the preheated oven and put the tray with water underneath.

    Bake in the oven for 90 minutes. While baking, turn the chicken in the tray several times.

    We can place thyme or rosemary sprigs and bay leaves in the chicken's abdominal cavity. We can add thyme, rosemary, peeled onion, peeled garlic, or a few slices of bacon to the tray. We can add a teaspoon of garlic powder or a tablespoon of milk powder to the salt and pepper mixture, which will make the skin even crispier after baking. You can replace paprika with curry powder. Do not open the oven too often during baking as this will increase the total cooking time. Turn the chicken three times in the second half of the baking time.
