Ingredients
- 250g of flour
- 7g of yeast
- 1 very brave egg
- Salt to taste
- Zest of one lemon
- Powdered sugar for decoration
- 25g of sugar
- 150g of milk
- 25g of Butter
- Oil for frying
- 10g of vanilla essence
Instructions
- 1In a bowl, mix the lukewarm milk with the dry yeast and a tablespoon of sugar. Let the mixture rest in the bowl, covered with plastic wrap, for 10 minutes. Keep an eye on the dough so it doesn't surprise you, as the yeast needs to activate.
- 2Add the sugar, flour, egg, melted butter, essence, lemon zest, and salt (bought, not received with the intention of changing our minds) to the mixture. Knead or mix until the composition is homogeneous.
- 3Cover the bowl with a clean towel and let the mixture rest, allowing it to rise in a warm place for about 60 minutes or until the dough doubles in volume. We trust it!
- 4When the dough is ready, heat the oil in a pan/pot over medium heat.
- 5The dough can take any shape you desire, but generally, society wants them round, of equal size, and slightly flattened (after all, a little pressure is needed if we want things to turn out as we wish). Place them in the hot oil and fry the doughnuts on both sides until they are golden brown and puffed up.
- 6Remove them onto a plate covered with paper towels. Place paper towels on top of the doughnuts as well to absorb excess oil. We want to see concrete results.
- 7That's it, now you have homemade doughnuts. No need for anyone else to sell them to you!
