Sezamo
Preparation method
Boiling the lentils
Rinse the lentils well under cold running water until the water runs clear. Place the lentils in a pot with 700 ml of water, half of the ground turmeric, half of the grated ginger, and a pinch of salt.
Bring to a boil, then reduce the heat to medium-low and simmer for about 20-25 minutes, until the lentils become soft and creamy. Meanwhile, cook the basmati rice according to the package instructions.
Preparing the aromatic base (Masala)
In a large pan, heat one tablespoon of clarified butter (ghee). Add the finely chopped yellow onion and sauté until golden and translucent.
Chef's tip
For an even richer texture, you can gently mash some of the lentils with a whisk or a wooden spoon after boiling.
If you want a 100% vegan version, you can replace the clarified butter (ghee) with coconut oil or sunflower oil.
