Preparing the Cake Base

Preheat the oven to 160 °C (fan-assisted function). Line a 20 cm diameter cake pan with baking paper on the bottom and sides (use a little butter to stick the paper to the sides).

Melt the dark chocolate together with the oil in a small saucepan over low heat, stirring occasionally until smooth. Let the mixture cool slightly.
