Ingredients

  • 90 g melted butter
  • 2 eggs
  • 140 g brown sugar
  • 200 g white flour
  • 40 g cocoa
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • approx. 50 g powdered sugar for rolling
  • a pinch of salt

Method of preparation

  • 1
Beat together the melted butter with the eggs and brown sugar. In a separate bowl, mix the flour, cocoa, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
  • 2
Add the dry ingredients to the liquid mixture and mix until smooth and you get a dense dough. Cover the bowl with food film and leave it in the refrigerator for one hour.
  • 3
After the dough has rested, preheat the oven to 180 °C and line a baking tray with baking paper. With a teaspoon, take pieces of dough, form small balls, and roll them well in powdered sugar. The sugar layer should be generous.
  • 4
Place the balls on the tray, spaced apart, and bake them for approximately 10 minutes. When you take them out of the oven, the cookies should be soft and slightly underbaked inside. As they cool, the surface hardens and they become slightly crispy on the outside, but soft and fluffy on the inside.
  • 5
After baking, let them cool for 3 minutes in the tray, then transfer them to a wire rack until completely cool.
