Preparing the Oven-Baked Fries
First, peel the potatoes and cut them into sticks (fries). Place them in a large bowl, cover with water, and let them sit for 10 minutes to remove starch. Drain the water, add fresh water, and let them sit for another 10 minutes.
Meanwhile, preheat the oven to 180 °C. Prepare a baking tray and line it with baking paper.
Drain the potatoes well, dry them with a kitchen towel, and spread them on the tray. Pour 60 ml of rapeseed oil over them, sprinkle with a pinch of salt, and mix well. Bake them in the preheated oven for 30 minutes at 175–180 °C, then increase the temperature to 200 °C and bake for another 15–20 minutes until golden and crispy.
Chef's tip
For an even juicier burger, make sure to use beef with a fat content of approximately 15-20%.
If you want extra flavor, you can add a slice of Cheddar cheese over the meat during the last minute of frying.
