Preparată din cartofi rași îmbogățiți cu ceapă călită aurie, usturoi, ouă și cimbru, această mâncare reconfortantă de toamnă este perfectă pentru o cină caldă în familie.

Preparation method

Preparing the vegetables

1

Preheat the oven to 180°C and grease a spacious ceramic or heat-resistant glass baking dish with one tablespoon of sunflower oil. Peel the white potatoes and grate them coarsely or finely, to your preference, then squeeze out the excess liquid gently.

2

Finely chop the yellow onion. In a skillet, heat 2 tablespoons of sunflower oil and sauté the onion over medium heat until soft, translucent, and lightly golden. At the end, add the crushed garlic and sauté for another 30 seconds to release the aromas. Allow to cool slightly.

Assembling the mixture

1

In a large bowl, lightly beat the chicken eggs with a generous pinch of iodized salt and ground black pepper. Add the dried thyme and wheat semolina, whisking vigorously with a whisk until smooth.

Chef's tip

For an even browner and crispier crust, you can switch on the oven's grill function during the last 5 minutes of baking.

Wheat semolina helps absorb the natural moisture of the potatoes, providing an airy and fluffy texture inside, typical of the traditional Moldavian recipe.
