Preparation method

Ingredient preparation

1

Cut the chicken breast into bite-sized strips or 2-3 cm cubes. Wash the fresh figs, remove the stems, and cut each fig into quarters. Thinly julienne the red onion, and finely mince the garlic cloves. In a small bowl, mix the balsamic vinegar with the natural polyfloral honey and 2 tablespoons of warm water until smooth.

Cooking in the skillet

1

Heat 2 tablespoons of extra virgin olive oil in a large skillet over medium-high heat. Add the chicken breast pieces, sprinkle with half of the sea salt and ground black pepper, and brown the meat for 5-6 minutes, turning on all sides until golden and appetizing. Transfer the chicken temporarily to a plate.

2

In the same skillet, add the remaining tablespoon of extra virgin olive oil and sauté the red onion for 2-3 minutes until translucent and soft. Add the minced garlic and dried thyme, stirring for 1 minute to release the intense Mediterranean aromas.

Chef's tip

Fresh figs are tender, so add them towards the end of cooking and stir gently to preserve their beautiful shape and delicate texture.

Balsamic vinegar combined with honey creates a glossy reduction that coats the meat pieces perfectly, offering that authentic sweet and sour taste of the Greek islands.
