Preparation method

Preparing the ingredients

1

Boil the Mie noodles in boiling water for 3 minutes, then drain well and rinse with a little cold water to stop the cooking. In a small bowl, mix together the soy sauce, Worcestershire sauce, ketchup, and sesame oil for the yakisoba sauce.

2

Cut the boneless chicken thighs into bite-sized thin strips. Finely shred the white cabbage, cut the carrot into thin matchsticks, and slice the spring onion diagonally, reserving the green part for garnish.

Pan cooking (Yakisoba)

1

Heat the sunflower oil in a large frying pan or wok over medium-high heat. Add the chicken strips, season with the table salt and ground black pepper, and brown them for 4-5 minutes until the chicken is thoroughly cooked through.

Chef's tip

For a complete, traditional Japanese touch, you can top with thin strips of red pickled ginger (beni shoga) or dried seaweed flakes (aonori).

You can use fresh ramen noodles or egg noodles if you prefer a different noodle texture.
