Wash the apples, peel them, and grate them on a large grater. Gently squeeze out excess juice if they are very watery.

In a large bowl, mix the grated apples with granulated sugar, vanilla sugar, ground cinnamon, and raisins. Mix the composition well until homogeneous.

Assembly and Baking

Preheat the oven to 200 °C. Roll out the puff pastry sheets on a flat surface.

Chef's tip

For extra flavor, you can soak the raisins in a little rum or rum essence before adding them to the mixture. Serve the strudel warm, perhaps with a scoop of vanilla ice cream!
