Preparation method

1

Divide the puff pastry into two equal parts and gently roll them out. Cut each part into squares of different sizes (from large to small), so you can overlap the layers to form a small Christmas tree. From 300 g of dough, you should get approximately 4 sets of 7 squares each.

2

On each pastry square (except the smallest one, which will be the top), place a small piece of prosciutto crudo, a slice of Emmental cheese, and a little sun-dried tomato pesto. Overlap the squares, rotating them slightly to create the appearance of fir branches, and secure everything in the center with a wooden skewer.

3

Place the Christmas trees on a baking tray lined with baking paper. Brush them with the beaten egg and sprinkle white sesame seeds on top. Bake in the preheated oven at 180°C for 25-30 minutes, until golden and crispy.

Chef's tip

For an even more festive look, you can use a long toothpick or a skewer to secure the layers, and on top, you can add a star cut from cheese or red pepper. Serve them warm to enjoy the melted cheese!
