Preheat the oven to 220 °C (top and bottom heat).

Roll out the puff pastry to a thickness of 3 mm and cut it into strips approximately 3 cm wide along the shorter side.

Wash the asparagus, dry it, and remove the woody ends. Wrap each asparagus spear in a slice of Gouda cheese, then roll a strip of pastry around it, similar to cream rolls.
Chef's tip
For extra flavor, you can add a pinch of nutmeg over the cheese before rolling the pastry.
