Preparation method

Preheat the oven to 220 °C (top and bottom heat).

Roll out the puff pastry to a thickness of about 3 mm and cut it into 3 cm wide strips along the short side.

Wash the asparagus, dry it, and remove the woody part from the base. Wrap each asparagus spear in a slice of Gouda cheese, then spiral-wrap it with a strip of dough, making sure to cover the cheese well.

Chef's tip

For extra flavor, you can spread a thin layer of pesto on the dough strips before wrapping the asparagus.
