Preparing the Cake Base

Preheat the oven to 180 °C. Prepare a cake pan (22 cm in diameter) and line it with baking paper.

In a large bowl, mix the flour, granulated sugar, half of the cocoa (30 g), and baking soda. Add 250 ml of water, oil, and one tablespoon of vinegar. Mix well until you get a homogeneous and smooth batter.

Pour the batter into the prepared pan and bake for 28-30 minutes at 175-180 °C. Check with a toothpick to see if it's done.
Chef's tip
For extra flavor, you can add a little vanilla or rum essence to the batter.
If you want a more festive cake, you can decorate the glaze with chocolate flakes or fresh berries.
