Preheat the oven to 160 °C.

Spread the walnuts in a single layer on a baking sheet and bake for 15 minutes. Remove and let them cool, then chop them coarsely.

Finely chop the garlic. In a pan, melt the butter over medium heat and sauté the garlic for 1 minute, stirring occasionally. Be careful not to brown it too much, so it doesn't become bitter. Let it cool.
Chef's tip
You will need a blender to prepare the pesto.
